Unless you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, you will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country. New Zealand passport holders can apply for a visa upon arrival in the country. All other passport holders must apply for a visa before leaving home. Visit the Department of Home Affairs to check which Visa you require.


Airport transfers for Genesys Customers and Guests will be pre-arranged and paid for you (inbound on Tuesday 23 & Wednesday 24 October, and outbound on Friday 26 October) providing you send a copy of your your flight itinerary to [email protected] no later than Friday 12 October.

What to pack?

October is the end of the dry season, expect sunshine, fresh breezes and relatively low humidity with day max temperatures around 28 degrees celsius.  Make sure you pack good walking shoes to participate in activities such as Golf and the Mossman Gorge Dreamtime Walk, and your swimming costume for the Great Barrier Reef and extensive lagoons at the hotel.  Ensure you pack your hat, sunglasses and susncreen for the Australian sunshine!


Australia’s national currency is Australian dollars (AUD), which comes in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cent and one and two dollar denominations.

Australia has a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10 per cent. You may be able to claim a refund for the GST paid on goods if you have spent AUD$300 or more with a single business, no more than 60 days before departing Australia. Tourist Refund Scheme facilities are located in the departure area of international terminals.

What kind of electrical plugs are used in Australia?

You may need an adapter in order to plug your appliances into the power sockets: the adapter required for Australia is Type 1 Australia plug. The plugs in Australia have two flat metal pins, forming an inverted ‘V’ shape, and occasionally a third pin in the centre.The electrical current in Australia is 220 – 240 volts, AC 50Hz.
